This is an 8-week program to get you started on your meditation and mindfulness practice. You may be brand new to meditation and mindfulness, or you may be a seasoned practitioner. Either way, we’re happy to have you join our community.
Each week, you’ll receive an email from us with preview of the week’s practice, recap of last week’s practice, reminders for upcoming Webinars and links to the previous Webinars. These emails are designed to keep you updated on the 8-week program, to motivate you, and address any concerns.

How This Program Works
We’ll be using The Anxious Lawyer, An 8-Week Guide to a Joyful and Satisfying Law Practice Through Mindfulness and Meditation as our guide. You can order a copy on Amazon.
Jeena Cho and Karen Gifford, the authors will facilitate this program by offering three Webinars on:
- Week One—Getting Started. Why Should Lawyers Practice Mindfulness? September 7, 11:00 – 12:00 PST/ 2:00 – 3:00 EST [Watch the recording]
- Week Four — Why Compassion Matters For Lawyers October 5, 11:00 – 12:00 PST/ 2:00 – 3:00 EST [Watch the recording]
- Week Eight — Taking Your Practice Forward October 25, 11:00 – 12:00 PST/ 2:00 – 3:00 EST
You’re encouraged to join us live for the Webinars, but they’ll also be recorded. Links to the recording will be sent out one to two days after the Webinar.
Each week, we’ll be introducing a new meditation practice and an informal or “off-the-cushion” practice. The off-the-cushion practice is designed to bring mindfulness and meditation more fully into your life and help to integrate it.
First Reading Assignment
Prior to our first Webinar on September 7th, read the Introduction (pg., 1 – 15) and Getting Ready to Meditate (pg., 17 – 35)
In addition to the Webinars and the Facebook group, you may also want to start a group either in your law firm or in your local legal community and work through the 8-week program with others. We have created group-facilitation guides that you can use.
